Aug. 28th is the Motor City Pizza’s Mayor’s Pizza Challenge. I have two goals this year, one is to represent Lake Dallas and bring home a trophy again this year with my new recipe (shhh…it’s a secret). The second goal is the most important, raising money for Sign Kind , a non profit organization founded by 12 year old twin sisters. Their focus is to bridge conversational gaps between the hearing, deaf, hard of hearing, & nonverbal. Having a special connection with these groups myself, I see so much value in the work they are doing. They have also facilitated a workshop with the Lake Dallas Police Department to introduce deaf etiquette and important signs that keep the deaf/hard of hearing in mind within our community.
